George married first to Grace Violet Glenn in 1923. Grace was born on March 20, 1899 in Glenpool, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died in 1928. On november 3, 1938, George married to Frances Wilhelmina (Druand) Pierce. During World War II Frances was a supervisor in the casualties branch of the Army's Adjutant General's office, responsible for notifying next of kin of the war time casualties. She held that position until the end of the war, then helped compile the Army's history of the Omaha Beach Landing. In 1947 she became editor of the US Air Force Register at the Pentagon and remained in that position until she retired in 1959.
