Abbie McGlothlan Keith, completed her earthly journey, joining her Lord, family and friends in eternal glory on Jan. 13, 2011. Abbie was born Nov. 6, 1923 in Yeager, OK to Berry and Maud Mills.
The youngest of 8 children, she was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and two children, both deceased after childbirth. Abbie was married to her one true love, Bill McGlothlan of Hulsey, OK for 47 years until his death in 1993. Abbie and Bill lived in CA, OR, KS and back to OKC in 1955.
After Bill's death, she was blessed to find a second mate and sweet companion to spend her later years with in Eldon Keith, whom she married in 1997 until his death in 2008.
Abbie is survived by her daughter, Janiece Vest and son-in-law, Bryan Vest, residing in Eufaula, OK; son Barry McGlothlan, resident of NORCE center for the handicapped in Enid, OK; her grandson, Brady Vest, of Kansas City, MO, who is most precious to her; and many nieces and nephews.
She is loved her church, Putnam City Baptist, friends in the "Shufflers" group (aptly named because of their domino and card shuffling as well as their shuffling feet), the Care Group and Sunday School class. Abbie was employed throughout her working career as executive secretary and expeditor (and really good at it), with her last 35 years between W & W Steel and later Harmon Construction company. Everyone who came to know Abbie was immediately drawn to her smile, gracious sweetness, and sincerity. She cared deeply for her friends and family and included them in her daily prayers. Everyone also knew that Abbie had the prettiest legs and looked great in her high heels, of which she had many pair! Although her earthly life is over, we rejoice in knowing she lives in perfect peace and harmony forever with her Lord, whom she served well.
Services held Mon., Jan. 17, 2011 at Putnam City Baptist Church with internment in Memorial Park Cemetery, OKC, beside her "Willie B". Memorial donations may be made to Putnam City Baptist Church.
