Kathleen M. Getchell "Kathy" Twaroski
Loving Wife & Mother Kathleen M. Getchell Twaroski, 66, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness. She was born in Erie on June 23, 1944, a daughter of the late Vincent and Katherine Kensill Getchell.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Thomas Twaroski; two sons, Timothy Twaroski and his wife Michelle of Fairfax, Va. and Mark Twaroski of Erie; a brother, Thomas Getchell and his wife Marilyn of Lexington, Ky.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
After graduating from Academy High School in 1962, Kathy worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller at Security Peoples Trust Company, later leaving employment to dedicate her time to raising her two sons.
Throughout her life Kathy volunteered for numerous organizations, including the Greater Erie Eye and Organ Bank and was also an active member of Holy Trinity Parish.
In addition, she enjoyed traveling and various outdoor activities especially gardening and camping.
Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Home, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend a service there Monday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Mass at Holy Trinity Church at 1 p.m.
Entombment in Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
