PASCAGOULA -- Eleise Fortner, 78, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in Pascagoula. Mrs. Fortner was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Bogalusa, La., and had been a resident of Pascagoula since 1942. She taught exercise classes for Pascagoula Recreational Department for 20 years and was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Fortner; and a sister, Nora Mae Abel. Survivors include two sons, Jim Fortner of Baltimore and Leo Fortner of Vancleave; a daughter, Brenda Perlman of Warner Robbins, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula
