Newton Hobson was named in honor of his mother's brother Newton Paschal, who died as a prisoner of war at the Andersonville Prison. Newton was survived by four sisters, Clara; Grace; Eva and Myrtle and by a brother Arthur. All of his siblings are buried in the Pacific Northwest.
