DEATH ISSUES CALL TO WELL KNOWN BANKER
Dan Edwin Firestone After Lingering Illness Dies At Lisbon
Extended Treatment In Sanitarium Proved of No Avail
Lisbon. Oct. 8. - Dan Edwin Firestone, cashier of the Firestone Bank here, died at the Firestone home, on North Market street, Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock, and the announcement was received with a general expresssion of regret. Although it was known for the past week that a cure could not be effected all hope that he might sufficiently recover to be about his duties at the bank again.
Deceased began to fail in health the fore part of last May when jaundice developed, and the latter part of June was forced to leave the bank and go to Battle Creek, Mich., where he entered a sanitarium for treatment. It was known when he left for the sanitarium that his condition was due to serious liver trouble, and when he returned home six weeks later there was very little improvement and scirrhosis of the liver had developed.
Dan Edwin Firestone was a son of the late Dan W. and Mrs. Susan Bushman Firestone and was born at North Georgetown, Knox township, November 8, 1869. Twenty-two years ago he became a clerk in the bank of Firestone Bros., and in the year of 1894 he was made cashier, which position he held at the time of his death. On November 27, 1907, deceased was united in marriage with Miss Irva Idella Wilson, of this city, who with his mother and one sister, Miss Nellie survive him.
The funeral will occur from the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in the family burying lot in the Lisbon cemetery.
