Houston D. Gann, age 85 of Gatesville, died Thursday in a local hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, March 25, 2000 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Hopkins officiating, interment will follow at Smith Cemetery.
Mr. Gann was born October 29, 1914 in Ponder, Texas to the late John Moon and America Amanda Smith Gann. He graduated from Ponder High School. He attended North Texas State University, University of Souther California and Texas A & M University. He served in the United States Air Corps in WWII in Europe. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville.
He married Catherine Winslar on September 2, 1980. He was prodeded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Louise Smith Gann on December 9, 1978 and five brothers, John, Peddy, George, Burt and Mood Junior Gann.
Survivoris: wife, Catherine Gann of Gatesville; Daughters: Sandra Tatum of Flat, Mecca Kenney of Pecos and Step-daughters; Mary Winslar Love, Sue Winslar Cummings, and Jo Ann Winslar Linch; Sons: Mood Gann of Flat and Johnny Gann of Ranger, Texas. Brother: Newton Gann of Seattle, Washington; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numberous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Steven Nagy, Justin Tatum, Mood Junior Gann, Blue Gann, Jim Blain Kenney, T. J. Kenny and Sam Early.
Memorials may be made to the Coryell Memorial Hospital.
