FRANK ABBOTT, JR.
Frank Abbott, Jr., 17, Arkdale, died at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Big Flats, Adams County, as a result of a gunshot wound.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roseberry's Funeral Home, Friendship. The Rev. Charles Bush will officiate. Burial will be in Fordham Cemetery, town of Adams.

Abbott was born May 3, 1964, at Spooner, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Abbott. He was a student at Adams-Friendship High School.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, David, at home; and three sisters, Lynn, Lisa and Patricia, all at home.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Man is charged with homicide.
A $6000 cash bond was set this morning in Adams County Circuit Court for James Morgan, 18, 1145 15th Ave., town of Big Flats.

Morgan is charged with homicide by reckless use of a weapon in connection with the Wednesday night shooting death of Frank abbott, Jr. 17, town of Big Flats.

Morgan and Abbott reportedly were feeding animals at 1147 15th Ave, town of Big Flats, when the shooting occurred.

Adams County District Attorney Mark Thibodeau said Thursday that Morgan had loaded a .22 caliber weapon in an attempt to scare Abbott. The pistol discharged and Abbott was struck in the chest, according to information from the district attorneys office.

Abbott was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner dr. Rahmaotoliah Simani.

A preliminary hearing for Morgan is set for 3 p.m. Monday, August 10. He remained in custody this morning following an initial appearance in court.
