Beverly Gale Bean Gott Baker, died 26 November 2010. She was born in Monida, Montana on 3 November 1930 to Jack and Annis Burwell Bean.
She lived in the Monida area until 1936, when the family moved to Dillon, Montana so Jack could find more gainful employment. In 1938, Jack went into partnership with Eddie and Carl Pappetti to form Valley Chevrolet. This business brought her and the family to Salmon.
In 1946 her parents sold their interest in Valley Chevrolet and purchased a fleet of schoolbuses, shuttling area children back and forth to schools. Baker drove a bus for her folks during her last two years of high school.
She met Lloyd Gott during this time. They dated several years and were married 16 September 1950. To this union, five children were born, John, Linda, Steve, Blain and Sally. They raised their children, supporting them in scouting, horse clubs, cars and various school activities.
Lloyd died in 1971 before the three youngest children graduated. She managed to support the kids at home by cooking and waiting tables at different Salmon restaurants.
At this time her sister and brother-in-law,Hellen and Eli Smith, offered her a job in the parts department of Smitty's car dealership. This enabled her to help the kids through high school and send them into the world.
She worked for the Smith's until they sold the business. She continued to work in the auto part business, going to work for Quality Motors in 1976. She retired from Quality Motors as the parts manager.
After going to work for Quality Motors, she was asked on a date by Bill Baker which developed into a relationship. She married the Sheriff in 1977. They lived in town for several years and then moved to his Poison Creek Ranch. They lived there until Bill's death in 1995.
She moved back to town, residing in Salmon until her death. She kept busy with life, working for Lemhi Sanitation, bowling, reading good books and volunteering occasionally at the Salmon Senior Center.
She loved her animals, especially her dog, Dandy. She believed in supporting the Rags and Wags Center and the Lemhi County Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Annis Bean: her husbands, Lloyd Gott and Bill Baker; daughter, Sally Amar; brother-in-law, Eli Smith, and sister and brother-in-law, Shorty and Ros Perry.
