Stanley married Theresa Ziemba Jan. 8, 1952, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at Krakow in rural Nance County.
Survivors are: wife, Theresa, of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Joyce Braband and husband, Douglas, of Cedar Rapids and Jane Batenhorst and husband, Bernard, of Grand Island; sister, Frances Ziemba of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Edmund Armatys of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jill (Braband) Stohs and husband, Brett, Scott Braband and wife, Kandyce; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Kymberlyn, Charlotte and Cassidy.
Stanley attended Boone County District 29 and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army post-World War II Germany before returning home to farm.
The couple lived their entire married life southwest of Cedar Rapids.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Theodore; and lifelong friend, Eldon Schomp.
