Services for James Leak, 64, Lizton, were December 17, 1980 at the Weaver Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Raymond Rader officiated with burial in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery. Born August 27, 1916 at Lizton, he was the son of Buford and Vannie (Merritt) Leak, and died suddenly at his home Saturday, December 13, 1980. Mr. Leak, a graduate of Lizton High School in 1934, was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was employed at Allison's retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Lizton Christian Church and the American Legion Post at Lizton. He married Mary Brown November 9, 1941. She preceded him in death December 28, 1973. Surviving are daughters: Mrs. Jane Grooms, Lizton, and Mrs. Kathy Helt, Rochester; five grandchildren; sister, Mrs. June Cash, Indianapolis. A sister, Mrs. Alice Hall, preceded him.
