Wilda V. Keinonen, 86, formerly of North 11th. Street and West Highland Apartments in Escanaba, Michigan, passed away Sunday Sept. 27, 2009, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Wilda Bennett was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Newberry, and was the daughter of Frank Bennett and Violet (Wilson) Bennett. The former Violet Bennett married Ernest E. Keinonen Sr. on Sept. 2, 1944, in Las Vegas, Nev., and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2001. Wilda was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and she enjoyed knitting, reading and playing cards.

Wilda V. Keinonen was survived by: son, Ernest Keinonen, Jr. of Escanaba; daughter, Cheryl Micheau of Avery Island, La.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marvell Bergron of Warren, Mich., Ruby Sans of Kalamazoo, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Virginia Nelson and Margaret Spleizer, brothers James, Orville, Thomas, Richard and Jack Bennett.
