Glenn Dyer passed away on January 12, 2011, in Pell City, Alabama. He was born on June 10, 1950, to Evelyn Adams Dyer and the late J.D. Dyer. Glenn was born in Orlando and later moved with his family to Ocoee as a child. He was the Salutatorian for the Class of 1968 at Ocoee High School and the President of the FFA. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1973 through 1977 in the Pershing Missile Unit. After returning to the States, Glenn started a company called Custom Cable, which he sold in recent years. He was a true entrepreneur. It was not unusual for him to have two or three projects going in his hometown of Pell City while he was traveling and consulting in the cable business. Glenn had a passion for life, loving boating and traveling with his family with Dyer Motor Sports, his sons competing across the country. He loved to sing, and anytime the Dyer family gathered, there was always guitars and singing. He loved family. Glenn was a generous man and lived his life with the motto that "to whom much is given, much is required." Glenn is survived by his wife, Debra; daughter, Jessica; and three sons, Shane, Taylor and Tyler Dyer. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Dyer of Ocoee; brothers Bruce (Joanne) of Winter Garden, Geno (Tina) of Pell City, Alabama, Jeff (Andrea) of Ocoee; and sisters Glenda Mead (Bill) of Altamonte Springs, Joyce Kerlin (Jeff) of Winter Garden, and Sherry Crane (Mike) of Clermont; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family was all together this past Thanksgiving and thanks God for every day he gave us.
