Born in Paris, France, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Lefebvre) de Charmigny, she met Governor Pothier while he was in Paris in 1900 as Rhode Island commissioner at the Paris Exposition.
When she came to this country in 1903 to visit friends in Bridgeport, Conn., they were married there. They made their home in Woonsocket. There are no immediate survivors.
