George Halsey Beddoe, second child to George Keiller Beddoe and Willa Juanita Cosner Beddoe, was born July 18, 1908, in Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey, USA. His father was working in New York City at the Flat Iron Building for the Ingalls Stone Company of Bedford, Indiana. George K. was the East Coast Sales Manager for Indiana limestone so popular in important buildings, like the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C. and the George Washington Masonic Temple in Alexandria, Virginia.

George died at age 90 from congestive heart failure (long term) and a heart attack (immediate cause of death) on December 10, 1998, at the Heartfields Assisted Living on Route 17 North just across the Rappahannock River from Fredericksburg, Virginia. This was about 1.5 miles from his son's house in downtown Fredericksburg. Surviving were his three children: Mary Beddoe Jett, Elizabeth Beddoe Berger Littleton, George Beddoe; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on December 20, 1998, at St. George's Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. His ashes were buried at the Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford, Indiana, in late January 1999.
