Jack E. Baker

Jack E. Baker, 90, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.

Born Jan. 29, 1920, in Shelby County, he was the son of Clarence F. and Maudie (Griffey) Baker. He married Edna Mae Sosbe on May 6, 1943, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1996.

Survivors include son, Michael (wife, Kim) Baker of Meridian, Idaho; brother, Charles "Bill" (wife, Janet) Baker of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Melissa R. Baker; four greatgrandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jackie Lynn Baker; three brothers; and a sister.

Mr. Baker had been employed as a cabinet maker at Admiral Corp.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Love officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
