Rosary services for Jose E. Munoz, 85, will be recited today at 7 p.m. in West Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Alcquin Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
He died Saturday in a local nursing home. A resident of White's City, he was employed as a farm laborer until his retirement 16 years ago.
Survivors include five sons, Louis Munoz, Elvterio Porraza and Ramon Munoz, all of Carlsbad, Manuel Munoz, Loving, and Cruz Munoz, Oxnard, Calif.; four daughters, Juana Olgin, Monahans, Texas, Louisiana Hernandez, Agua Caliente, Mex., Gabina Botello, Juarez, Mex. and Andrea Hernandez, Carlsbad; two brothers, Nasario Munoz, Gilbert, Ariz. and Sesario Munoz, Artesia; and 46 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Munoz, Agustus Fresquez, Jesse Lerman, Ralph Ontiveros, Cristobal Lerma and Guadalupe Lerma.
