Hance, 87, of 41 Court St.,
died yesterday at the Freehold
Area Hospital, Freehold
Township.
A lifelong area resident, he
at one time operated the former
Hudson and Essex Automobile
Agency here.
He was an exempt member
of Goodwill Hook and Ladder
Fire Co., and he served aa
borough fire chief from 1920-
1922.
Mr. Hance served in the
Army Air Service during World
War I. He was a charter and
life member of Monmouth
Post 54, American Legion,
here. He was a member of
the Holland Society in New
York.
Surviving are his widow,
Mrs. Mary Hance; a son,
Bruce D. Hance of Birmingham,
Mich.; a daughter, Mrs.
Virginia H. Becker, at home;
a brother, George C. Hance
of Bogota; a sister, Mrs. Marian
H. Dubois, here, and six
grandchildren.
