Joseph D. Eberhardt, 67, Altoona, died Sat., Jan. 15, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. He was born in Altoona to Joseph John & Ruth Naomi (Wineland) Eberhardt. He married Gaile L. Jones on June 8, 1964. Survived by wife; 2 children: Joseph Allen Eberhardt & wife, Susan, and Renee Lee Heininger & husband, Troy, all of Altoona; 4 grandchildren: Shealyn, Marissa, Lexi and Dean, all of Altoona; brother, John of Altoona; sisters: Hedy DelBiondo of Frankstown and Judy Roberts of Altoona; and cousin, Colleen Smith & husband, Paul, in FL. Joseph attended Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, 22 years of service, attaining the rank of warrant officer and serving during the Vietnam War. Member, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona. Member and commander, Catholic War Veterans; member of D.A.V.; V.F.W.; a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus; the St. Vincent DePaul Society president for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a Master Mason.
