ISABELL MASTRO DAMIANI was born in Fresno, (in her parent's home on "A" Street) on May 19, 1917, to Lena Catino Mastro (1896-1980) and Joseph Mastro (1885-1969). She was the second born to a family eventually consisting of 6 children-- four boys and two girls: John, Isabell, Vito, Pat, Antoinette, and Anthony.
Isabell married Joseph Logoluso Damiani on April 14, 1940 and moved directly into a new home Joseph had built for her, located at 1262 Pottle Ave in Fresno, California. Their first child, Lucille Ann, was born in 1940, followed by Lillian Marie in 1942, and seven years later their last child, JoAnn Marie was born. Isabell and Joe spent 47 years of married life together, until his death on September 11, 1987.
Isabell did not work outside the home. Instead, she worked inside her home, creating a warm and loving atmosphere for her husband; three daughters and their spouses; three grandsons; and extended family and friends. Her family was her whole life. She was the most selfless, generous, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is missed!
