FLOYD NEELEY
Floyd Neeley, 74, 1527 Ferguson Road, died Monday (March 8, 1993) at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Burial is to follow in Carlsbad Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Bacon officiating.
The family is to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Denton Funeral Home.
Neeley was born April 16, 1918, in Plainview, Ark. He moved to Carlsbad in 1930 and grew up in the Otis and Carlsbad area.
He attended Ouachita University in Arkedelphia, Ark., and received a B.S. in Chemistry. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the European Theatre as a B-17 pilot and flying 50 missions successfully as a member of the 32nd bomb group, 301st bomb squadron.
Mr. Neeley married Della Hart Nov. 2, 1940, in Bentonville, Ark.
He worked for P.C.A. as a chemist and became chief chemist before retiring in 1982 after 43 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, served on the first Water Board in Otis, was active in the Farm Bureau and was a member of the American Chemical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Della Neeley of Carlsbad; two daughters, Kiane Lowe of Albuquerque and Priscilla Neeley of Mineola, N.Y.; one sister, Ida Weems of Carlsbad; and two grandchildren, Ian Lowe and Ryan Lowe of Albuquerque.
V.L. Garner, John Allen, Gene Roberts, Randal Smith, William Weems and Pat Neeley are scheduled to serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the C.A.R.C. Farm.
