"Mrs. Lloyd Griggs of N. Dixie was called Thursday last week to Manhattan by the serious illness of her father, Elmer Shoop, who was a patient in Silver Cross hospital, Joliet. Mr. Shoop, who had been ill since November, died there at ten o'clock Saturday morning.
"Funeral services were held at Manhattan Tuesday afternoon. Attending from Momence were Mr. and Mrs Kenneth Griggs, Mr. and Mrs Ed Chipman, Mr. and Mrs. George Stetson and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fawver.
"Mrs. Griggs will remain in Manhattan for a time. This is the fourth death in her family since Feb 13, 1946."
