Joshua Mark Comfort was born March 11, 1989, in Portland. He was a free spirited, loving, and gentle boy. Josh always had an extra beat in his step and was full of enthusiasm with a smile that radiated. Josh loved his family and was always the first to stand up for what he believed in to protect them. Josh was a comedian-always cracking a joke-saying or doing something silly just to get a smile. He hated to disappoint anyone. Even while he was battling his own demons he focused on family, friends, and being the best daddy he could to his beautiful little girl. Because of his own personal battles, he was passionate about helping others who struggled. Josh had high hopes, dreams, and goals for his future. He wanted to do something with animals or go to school. He had even talked about joining law enforcement, thanks to the unconditional support, respect, and encouragement shown to him by the Scappoose police and all local law enforcement agencies. In the meantime, Josh worked for and alongside his dad, which was something he loved to do. All Josh ever wanted to do was be kind and make people smile. Josh had a heart of gold. Josh loved to travel, explore, and try new things. He was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed greatly. God only takes the best; and the best was indeed taken Friday morning, Jan. 14, 2011. Although, we will be grieving the loss of our sweet boy, we have yet another angel unlike any other watching over us. We will pull our strength from his memory and love, in order to give and appreciate more. Josh is survived by his father, Mark Comfort; mother and stepdad, Karla and Frank Dottl; sisters, Kaysha Comfort and Austa Lord; brother, Jacob Comfort; daughter, Kaycee Bell Comfort; and Kaycee Bell's mother, Aubree Williams. Josh will be sadly missed here on earth, but is welcomed into heaven by his brother, John Holmason and Momma-Kon Comfort. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, in Warren Community Fellowship Church. Committal service and niche inurnment will be in Columbia Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Scappoose. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.columbiafh.com
