Evelyn was first married to Leo Henry Bracelen on April 16, 1927 in Lincoln, Nebraska they divorced in 1943. They were the parents of Jean Elaine, Leo Henry Jr., and my father, James Carl Bracelen. She then was married to Edward Peter Buss at Wilber, Nebraska on May 12, 1943.
Evelyn "Mother" was one of 8 children born to Melvin Edward & Minnie Jane (Montz) Shasteen, her siblings were,
Helen Jessie "Nannie" Meyer, Harland Edward "Buddy" Shasteen, June Elizabeth "Dede" Oliver, Doris Ruth "Doe" Vejvoda, Betty Marie "Bet" Reidel, and Darlene Mel "Dar" Tidwell. Jean Alberta died in infancy, and Evelyn's nick name was "Wawa".
She was a terrific Mother to her grandchildren, Jimmy Leo and Shawn Patrick, and how we miss her.
She is buried along side of her second husband and the family decided to leave his military headstone there.
