The family of Joseph Kehdi wishes to celebrate his life on this Earth. Joseph passed Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011. Born Aug. 15, 1929, to father, Amin, and mother, Ameena, Joseph loved family, golf, bowling, gaming, billiards, and adventure. Joseph was born in Koussaya, a small village in Northeastern Lebanon near the Bekaa Valley. He was generous throughout his life, and leaves behind a grateful family, Janette, Steve, Andy, Ed, Megan, Nik, Alex, Suzan, Nikki, Michelle, and other loving family members. Having immigrated to the U.S. from Lebanon in 1951, Joseph felt blessed for the opportunities afforded him in America. He served in the U.S. Army starting in 1954, and was a patriot of this country to the end. Joe was an inspiration to his family and a pillar of strength to us all. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, in Mt. Scott Funeral Home, 4205 S.E. 59th Avenue, and from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. The graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Willamette National Cemetery. All who knew Joseph are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals-On-Wheels or the Rescue Mission, two of his favorite charities.
