Jerry E. Phelps, 57, died April 16, 2000 Mr. Phelps was born June 4, 1942, son of Fred Lewis Phelps of Sumter, SC and the late Betty VanLuevan Phelps. He served in the US Air Force. He was a Computer Field Engineer Specialist with Unisys. He was a Feed the Children Partner, ministered to people in nursing homes, and he founded Light in Sight (Puts Bibles in Nursing Homes) and he traveled and sang in the Gospel Ministry. Surviving are: His wife Jeanne Azevedo Phelps of Summerville, SC. one Son: Jerry E. Phelps, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, two: Daughters Jeanne Sterner of Gainesville, FL Alessandra "Ali" Pastor of Summerville SC three Sisters: Mary Jane Yancey of Greenville SC, Beth Fulmer of Braselden GA, Sandy Wilson of Sumter SC Two Grandchildren: Jaci Melana Sterner, Angela Marie Marvin.
