MRS. ANNA SHASTEEN
Burial services for Mrs. Anna Shasteen of Lincoln, who died on Thursday, October 10, 1946, were held at the Cook cemetery Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Shasteen was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Souders of Cook. She lived in Cook a long number of years, moving to Lincoln in 1929, where she has since made her home.
Surviving are a daughter and five sons, Mrs. Mable Arthur and Albert and Carl Shasteen of Lincoln, George Shasteen of Denver, Colo., Melvin Shasteen of Seattle, Wash., and Lewis Shasteen of Lyman.
Services were held Monday afternoon at Lincoln, and burial was in the Cook cemetery. She was aged 80 years. Mrs. Harry Mershon of Cook is a sister of the deceased.

DEATH TOOK FORMER RESIDENT OF COOK
Mrs. Anna Shasteen, who for many years resided in Cook, passed away at her home in Lincoln early Thursday morning, Oct. 10, 1946, at the age of eighty years, two months and twenty-two days. She was born in Fulton county, Pennsylvania, but most of her life was spent in Nebraska.
She was married to Edward Shasteen, who preceded her in death more than twenty years ago.
There are six living children: Mrs. Mabel Arthur, Albert and Carl, of Lincoln; Louis of Lyman, Nebr.;George of denver, Colo., and Melvin of Seattle, Wash. All but Melvin attended the funeral, and he had just recently been in Lincoln visiting his mother and could not come for the services. There are also twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. There are also three sisters and two brothers; Mrs. Addie Rogers of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Cora M. Byrd of Roaring River, N.C. Mrs. H. M. Mershon of Cook, Nebr., A H. Souders, San Diego, Calif. and Louis Souders, Blockton, Iowa. There are also three nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Brown Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Wm. Thompson of the Nazarene church officiating. Mrs. Shasteen joined that church after she moved to Lincoln.
Burial was in the Cook cemetery. To the family is extended sympathy in their loss.
