John M. Shriner

MIFFLINBURG - John McClellan Shriner, 82, Cowan, Mifflinburg RD2, died Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. in his home. He had been ill for two years.
Born March 19, 1900, in Cowan, he was the son of the late Charles Hower and Margaret Simonton Shriner. He was married May 26, 1921, to the former Helen Mae Moyer, who survives.
Mr. Shriner was an interior and exterior decorator, retiring in 1975. He and his wife owned and operated a grocery store in Cowan for a number of years.
He was a member of the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg RD2.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Zechman of Mifflinburg RD2, and Mrs. Isabel Myers of Mifflinburg; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, John Charles Shriner, died in 1937.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Strunk Funeral Home, Mifflinburg, by the Rev. Ned L. Knisley. Burial will be in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg RD2, in care of the Rev. Ned L. Knisley.
