Miner is Probably Fatally Injured Clinton, Ind., March 28

George Houser, aged about 53, a coal miner, was perhaps fatally injured at Maple Valley Mine this afternoon. While at work at mining coal, a huge piece of slate fell and crushed him. He had several ribs broken, was badly mashed about the body and hurt internally. He was removed to his home on South Water Street and attending physician holds out but little hope of recovery. Less than a year ago Houser's little boy, age about 14, was crushed in about the same manner at mine No. 7 and a suit is now pending in the Circuit court for $1,000., for the injuries received.
