Charles E. "Chuck" Drane, 61 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Karn officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery of Woodward. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home of Woodward.



Charles Edward Drane was born on January 13, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas to Luther Eldon and Wilma Florene (Kinsey) Drane. Chuck started school in Wichita and while still in school his family moved to Woodward where he finished his education. On August 3, 1976 he was united in marriage to Judy Delores Warner at Fargo, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward where Chuck began his welding career. He was employed by Smitty's Welding Company and several oil field companies before buying his own welding truck and starting his own business.



Chuck enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was a member of the ABATE Motorcycle Club. He loved watching his grandson Jason play football and cooking outdoors with his many friends and family. His little boston terrier "Tuffy" was a dear friend and companion.



Chuck is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Collier of Woodward and Christina Michelle Taylor and husband Mike of Brenham, Texas; his dad, Ross Tromblee of Woodward; one sister, Faye Cole and husband Gene of Eufaula, Oklahoma; one brother, Eldon Drane of Eufaula, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jason Collier, Judy Collier and Jessi Taylor.



He was preceded in death his wife and soul mate Judy Drane, one daughter, Carla Renee and his mother Wilma Florene Tromblee.
