-ROCK HILL - Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Parker Broome, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Agape Rehab.
-The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Buddy Cutshaw officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
-A native of Chester, Mrs. Broome was the daughter of the late Lewis Alonzo Parker and the late Beulah Bell Bean Parker. She was of the Baptist faith and was the widow of Clarence Russell Broome Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Lewis Lipford and Thomas Carroll Parker; five brothers; and four sisters.
-Surviving are her sons, James Lipford of Columbia and Mark Wayne McGee of Great Falls; her daughter, Rachel P. Greene and her husband, Christopher, of Rock Hill; her very special daughter-in-law, Judy Parker of Chester; her brother, Curtis Parker of Bennettsville; her sisters, Beulah Mae Kasey of Stanley, N.C., Ines Taylor of Great Falls and Margie Gable of Chester; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
-The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. (prior to service) on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.
