Thomas Francis Galligan of West Harford died Friday night at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Somerville, Massachuettes, son of the late David and Bridget Whelan Galligan. He had been associated with Aetna Life Insurance Companies, in the purchasing and supply department for more than 35 years. Before joining Aetna, he was employed by the New Haven Railroad. He was a World War I veteran, a memeber and past commander of the Robert E. Collins Post 131 American Legion: a member and past of the Aetna American Legion Post and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Forty and Eight Club, the Elks, a past president of the Aetna Men's Club. He leaves his wife, Mrs Irene Burnadette Robert Galligan; a son, Thomas Francis Galligan, Jr. with the Air Force in Mill valley, California; a daughter, Miss Dorothea Frances Galligan of West Hartford, one sister; Helen Mary Galligan Hoeft of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a brother, David F. Galligan of Manchester, Connecticut. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. at Ahern Funeral Home with a requiem high mass at St. Mark Evangelical Church in West Hartford. Buriel will be at Fairview Cemetery in West Hardford. Friend may call the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
