Deacon Daniel was one of the sons of Elijah Blaisdell, who was a native of Waldo county, Me. In 1817 the family came to Sidney.
Deacon Daniel was a farmer, tanner and shoemaker. Later in life he removed to Oakland, where he died April 25, 1864, aged 71yrs. His first marriage was with Mary Blaisdell, who died, leaving four children, Samuel, Elijah,Daniel Augustus and Elizabeth S.
His second wife, Sally Tobey, bore him two sons: Edwin and Stephen.
