El Dorado, Kan. —Teresa Lynn (Teichgraeber) McClanahan, 59, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, born Saturday, Feb. 10, 1951 in Emporia, to Richard Teichgraeber & Helen (Hughes) Teichgraeber; passed from her earthly life on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Teresa has been a resident of the Houston area for a very brief time; coming from her home town of Hamilton, Kan. Teresa graduated from Hamilton High School in 1969; she then attended the University of Kansas. In her free time, she enjoyed antiquing, reading, horses and especially cooking and eating. But what Teresa loved more than anything in the world were the times she shared with her children and grandchildren who she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who had their lives touched by hers; fond memories will always be cherished of her free spirit, her warm and caring nature and her love of life.
Teresa is preceded in death by beloved parents Richard and Helen Teichgraeber. Teresa is survived by her loving daughters, Brittan Peffly and husband Jason, Laura Miller, Valerie McClanahan and Bryan Marshall, Whitney Gil and Charles Hickson and Helen McClanahan, and Dilmen and husband Huseyin; her dear grandchildren, Madeline, Nicholas, Ty, Mia, Andrew, Maggie, Jase, Kadir and Elise; beloved siblings, Kelly Rains, William Teichgraeber and wife Mary, and Arthur Teichgraeber and wife Heidi; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial has been established with Butler County Mental Health Center.
Contributions may be left with the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home who is handling local arrangements Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
