Ivan C. Gehman, 71, of Mohnton R2, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday at Ephrata Community Hospital, where he had been a patient 12 days. He had lived at Denver Nursing Home two years and in Brecknock Township 50 years. Gehman was born in Pelston, Mich., and was a son of the late Henry and Anna Garber Gehman. He had worked at various area shoe companies. In 1974, he retired from Dar-Ru-Be Shoe Co. in Ephrata. Gehman was a member of Bible Fellowship Church in Reading. He and his wife, the former Sallie Weber had celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on Dec. 21, 1978. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Willard H. Gehman of Lititz; a daughter, Arlene M., wife of Rev. H. James Justice of Ephrata; eighty grandchildren; a sister, Lila, wife of Lewis G. Horning of Ephrata; a brother, David Gehman of Shillington, and a step-brother, Ralph Krahwinkel of Hatboro. (Lancaster New Era - Feb 24, 1979)
