Henry L. Childs, 82, of 2985 Garford, died at 3 a.m. Saturday in St. Rita's Hospital.

Born Sept. 22, 1885, in Harriman, Tenn., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Childs. He was married to Beulah Childs, who died in 1942, and he then married Lucille Childs, who died in 1949.

Mr. Childs was a retired DT&I Railroad section hand.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six sons, Harley of 812 E. Robb, Donald of 3185 Burch, Leroy of 2985 Garford, Harry of Waynesfield, Albert of Archbold and James of Fremont; three daughters, Mrs. Victor (Mabel) Adams of Spencerville; Mrs. Bernard (Mary Alice) Nevergall of 4891 S. Dixie Hwy., and Mrs. Norman (Martha) Lever, address unknown; two brothers, Charles of Bourbonnais, Ill. and Lee of LaFollette, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Julia Lindsay, Victoria, Tex.; 33 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Chiles and Sons-Laman Wayne Street Chapel, Rev. Willard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.
