Hawes, Candace M. 89, of Hart, died Sunday, June 11, 2006. She was born May 31, 1917 in New Era, Mich. to Alfred E. and Dora (VanderVen) Norberg. In October of 1946 she married Anthony Bradford Hawes in Muskegon. Mrs. Hawes was a homemaker and a beautician, having her own salon in Fremont. She had attended the First Baptist Church. Her survivors include her daughter, Joan (Larry) Buttrey of Pentwater; one granddaughter, Danielle (Steven) Rakczynski of Ludington, Mich.; one great granddaughter, Sarah Kobrak of Ludington; one great grandson, Jason Rakczynski of Ludington; one sister, Dorothy VanDuinen of New Era. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Bradford Hawes, July 20, 1997, and by three brothers and four sisters. The funeral service for Mrs. Hawes will be Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. from the First Baptist Church, Pastor Mark Looman officiating. Interment in the Mears Cemetery. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church.
