Mrs. Burnadeen Jones, 72 of Leonard, Mo. died Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. in the Clarence Nursing Home in Clarence. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Chapel in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Harvey Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Leonard Church Cemetery at Leonard, visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Funeral Chapel in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 7, 1913 in Macon County, the daughter of Earnest and Leona Fuller Streight. She was married on Oct. 11, 1928 to Gene Garnett, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1976. She married a second time on Dec. 30, 1979 in Leonard to Melvin Jones. She was a member of the Leonard Christian Church and was employed as a cook at the Leonard School.
Survivors include her second husband; five sons, Melvin Garnett of Macon, Donald Garnett of Iowa City, Ia., Jim Garnett of Memphis, Dewayne Garnett of Shelbyville and Kennith Garnett of Leonard; three daughters, Mary Joseph of Shawnee, Kans., Sue Thurman of Roscoe, Ill. and Marge Hanson of Gallatin, Ill.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Melba Owings; one brother Nolan Streight of Macon; one sister, Mrs Fern Garnett of Atlanta; 22 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and one grandson.
