Alvin Tyree Pidge was born in Gibson County, Tennessee near the city of Milan on 2 January 1921 to John Wesley Pigg and Mary Caroline Denton. Alvin was the youngest of seven children born to Mary and John. Eventually the family moved from Tennessee to Mesa, Arizona and changed the family name from Pigg to Pidge. Alvin married Latheian Stock on 27 September 1957 at Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona and to their marriage five children were born: Elizabeth Pidge, Caroline Pidge, Janice Pidge, John Edward Pidge, and James Anthony Pidge. Alvin died on 9 March 1995 at Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona at the age of 74 and is buried at City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
