Jen was a practicing visual artist, Jen's creativity and ingenuity inspired many. In her youth, Jen was a valued member of various competition cheerleading squads and recreational softball teams. A lifetime member of the International Thespian Society, Jen helped mount plays and musicals at her alma mater Salem High School in Virginia Beach as well as the Little Theater of Virginia Beach.

Jen is survived by parents, Jeff and Jackie Hanasik of Norfolk, VA; her brother, Jason of San Francisco, CA; her Nana Ellen Rooney of Norfolk, VA; her Uncle John Rooney of Virginia Beach, VA; her Uncle Steve Hanasik and his wife Gail of Chesapeake, VA; godson Logan of Birmingham, AL; and a multitude of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry F. Rooney, Stephen E. and Ruth Hanasik.
