Virginio "Neno" Bellini, 100, a resident of Agawam for 46 years died Tuesday September 9, 2008 in his home and in the care of his loving daughter Carol. Born in Torri del Benaco Verona Italy on February 9, 1908 a son of the late Angelo Bellini and Rosa (Giocometti), he came to the United States in 1916 settling in Springfield. He lived in the South End of the city on Fremont St for several years before moving to the Feeding Hills section of Agawam. His birthday was celebrated and acknowledged by many friends and family, the Mayor of Springfield and on the Today Show. He was employed by the former Whitley Tailors in Springfield and later the Agawam School System, retiring in 1974. Neno attended church at Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield. He was a member of the Agawam Senior Center where for many years he enjoyed the friends he made there. He was married for 66 year to the late Danny Derna (Formaggioni) Bellini who died in February 2002. Neno is survived by his daughter Carol DeLevo of West Springfield and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Neno was predeceased by three brothers Charles, Frank and Peter. Funeral services for Neno will be Saturday starting at 8:30 AM at Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust St. Springfield followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 123 William St. Springfield and burial following in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
