Born December 7, 1921 in Lyndora, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Andrew Duffer and Susan Vasil Duffer.
Mrs. Russin attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Blazing Star Choral Group. Mrs. Russin was a graduate of Slippery Rock University and a Penn State post graduate. She taught school in Moon Township in Allegheny County and elementary school in Lyndora, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and National Teachers Retirement Association.
Mrs. Russin is survived by her husband, Andrew Russin whom she married on June 25, 1947; one daughter, Michele and her husband, Larry Minto of Wilmington, Delaware; one sister, Mary Duffer of Butler, Pennsylvania; and one grand dog, "Petie".
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Robert F. Oravetz of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
A Parastas service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
