"Mason City, IL, Sept 22, 1914: A telegram was received by Mrs. H. C. Burnham announcing the death of her only surviving brother, Dr. Alonzo Currier, a veteran of the civil war and a former practicing physician of Greenview and Mason City (both in IL), but for many years a resident of Fort Scott, Kan, where he passed away Saturday at the age of 80 years. Dr. Currier is survived by his wife and 3 children, and other relatives."
