Dorothy Lee Maier, 80, of Kingwood, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at the home of her niece, Loretta Clarkson. She was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Corinth, a daughter of the late Albon G. and Stella C. Casteel Smith. She retired in 1980 from Sheidow Bronze with 14 years of service. She is survived by one son, Thomas E. Arnold of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; one brother, Harry Smith of Fellowsville; one grandson, Robert J. Arnold of Salem, Wis., and three great-grandchildren, Mikayla J. Arnold, Brent M. Spohn, and Stephen M. Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell "Buck" Maier; four brothers, June Smith, Lester Smith, Joe Smith and Foster Smith; and two sisters, Jesse Riley and Dollie V. Smith. Graveside services will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, with Rev. Karen Phillips officiating.
