November 22, 1905: Died on November 20th, 1905, at his home in Springville, John R. Teague, aged 48 years. He had been afflicted for over two years, but was confined to his bed quite recently. He was the father of seven children, six of whom are living, four boys and two girls, who with their mother, survive him. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church and will be remembered as one of the county's best young citizens, a kind father and husband, a true and faithful friend.

His remains were brought to Ashville and were interred at the cemetery tuesday, a large number of friends and relatives present. The services at the church conducted by Rev. N.A. Hood.

Relatives and friends present at the funeral were S.T. Teague, Birmingham; T.W. Teague, Gadsden; Frank Crow and wife, Killerman; G.W. Coker and wife, Otis Lonnergan and wife, Mrs. Emma Teague, Ed Teague, all of Beaver Valley; beside his immediate family of Springville, Alabama.
