MEADE, Rush Age, 71, of Hi Hat, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, following an extended illness. Born on May 4, 1930, at Hi Hat, Ky., he was the son of the late Hibbert and Laura Hall Meade. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mada Gibson Meade. He was a retired bus driver. He was a retired Air Force veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 889, at Wheelwright, Ky., and a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church at Hi Hat, Ky. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Justine Bates Meade. Other survivors include one son, Thomas Ray Meade of Allen, Ky.; one daughter, Carla Jeanne Meade of Hi Hat, Ky.; one step-brother, Paul Pratt of Houston, Texas; one sister, Ruth Hall of Detroit, Michigan; and four grandchildren, Laura Beth Meade, Dewey Thomas Meade, Alanna Marie Meade, and Erica Faye Meade. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 3, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Pine Grove Baptist Church at Hi Hat, Ky., with Harry Hargus, Rodney Mosley, and Dickie Tackett officiating. Burial will be in the Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky. Visitation was at the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Masonic services were conducted Saturday evening, at 7 p.m. (FCT'S)
