Warren - Corwin Rule was a homesteader, miner and outfitter and enjoyed prospecting, hunting and arrowheads, his horses and spending time in the Pryor Mountains. He was a member of the Outfitters Association.
Mr Rule, 83, died June 26 in Billings Deaconess Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born in Bowler November 16 1904, a son of William Thomas and Etta Rule. He had lived at Bluewater Creek and Gyp Creek before homesteading at Warren. February 1, 1928, he married Vinita Pearl Johnson in Bridger.
They moved to Pryor in 1938 and in 1955, he struck uranium in the Pryor Mountians. They then moved to Bridger and after the mine closed in 1958, moved to Warren. He started outfitting in 1964 and retired in 1975. Mrs Rule died in 1986. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley, in 1944.
Survivors include a son, Dennis of Ballantine; a daughter, Mrs Robert (Sandra) Kelsey of Bridger; a sister, Elva Clifton of Greybull, Wyoming; a close companion, Ruby Raggl of Bridger; and four grandchildren, Jay Kelsey of Encampment, Wyoming, Shannon Kelsey of Two Dot, Montana, Kelly Kelsey of Bridger and Butterfly Rule of Ballantine.
Service were at 1 p.m. June 30 in Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with burial in Rockvale Cemetery.
