QUITMAN — Services for Bobby Joseph Combest Sr. were held Monday at First Baptist Church of Stonewall with the Rev. Dr. Albert McMullen and the Rev. Jeff Jeffers officiating. Burial followed at Stonewall cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home.
Mr. Combest, 65, of Stonewall, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Combest retired in 2005 after working with Mississippi Power Company for 38 1/2 years. He served as local manager for the Stonewall and Enterprise areas. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Stonewall, where he served as deacon more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patty; two daughters, Pam Sullivan, and her husband, Chris, and Christy Robinson and her husband, Brent, all of Nashville.; a son, Jody and his wife, Ruth, of Enterprise.; three grandchildren, Malcolm and Maddy Combest and Taylor Robinson; a brother, Charles "Freddy"; and two sisters, Bonnie Carroll and Diane Moulds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Margie Combest; a brother, Maxie Combest; and a sister, Margaret Lawrence.
Pallbearers were Jackie McHenry, Carl Robinson, Ronnie Goldman, Walter Taylor, Wayne Hemmingway, and Mike Graves.
