Tennie was known in the area as being able to nurse people when they were very ill. She would climb up on her horse and ride side saddle to take care of folks. On one of these trips her horse was spooked by a snake, the horse reared up and threw her to the ground. When she didn't come home like she had planned the family went looking for her. Upon finding her she had several broken bones but no complaints.

She was a very kind and caring person, when she married she never had more than one room of her own at the very large Brindley home, cause after marring she took care of her aging in laws and began raising her own children.

A few days before Tennie passed away her brothers Josephus & Rollin were taken ill and she decided to go and help the family that were all sick but, in a couple of days she starting to feel sick herself. She was told she should go home but, not wanting to leave her brother Josephus and his family she stayed. During these few days her brother Rollin passed away on April,23rd and she passed away four short days later. Her family came with a wagon to take her home for the last time. The brother that she went to help passed one year later. In the matter of one year they lost twelve family members.

Her brother Joseph lived on little over a year.

The bed her father in law made for her mother in law out of the wood taken from the farm. Mary had all her children in it and so did Tennessee it is now owned by this writer, along with Mary McKinley's youth bed

Thank you to all that leave flowers and words for this wonderful lady, may you truly be blessed.
