TOPSAIL BEACH NC - Janie Christine DePaola, 89, of Topsail Beach died Jan. 21, 2011, at home. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Jones Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. Terry Foss officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park. She was born in Craven County the daughter of the late William and Frances Wood Adams and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Angelo DePaola Sr., of the home; a son, Angelo DePaola Jr., of Coden, Ala.; two daughters, Mary Frances Higgins of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Vivian Simpson of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Beadie Clark of Jacksonville; two half sisters, Doris Arthur of New Bern and Joanne Bischof of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
